Welcome!
The main area of research in our lab is on Plant Morphogenesis. We focus on phytohormone signaling and vegetative shoot morphogenesis. Another area of work includes projects on use of DNA markers (e.g., AFLP, microsatellites) for plant population genetics and cladistics. Using plants as bioreactors for production of selected therapeutic proteins (e.g., proteins from snake venom) is also a minor area of work in the lab.
Our members include ‘insane’ (read: highly committed!) graduate students who spend most of their spare time throwing ice down each other's backs. The lab is also home to senior undergraduates seeking training and experience in molecular biology research. The lab opens its doors to anyone with a genuine interest and passion for plant molecular and developmental biology.
